Getting asked to serve for jury duty is possibly the most intriguing thing that's been asked of you since you got that ring on your finger.
They even gave me a free bus ticket! Sounds like fun, doesn't it?

Ah ha! That's pretty funny. So where would you go and are you going to do it!?
It's downtown at one of the government buildings.
In the letter they send you in the mail they describe different reasons why you might be exempt from jury duty. One of those is if you have custody of a child that you are caring for and there would be no one else to care for them if you left. So I suppose if I had some family here that I could leave Emma with each day for a few months (At first you get interviewed to see if you're eligible, then you might have to go to court for a couple weeks to months), I could do it. Emmanuel was wishing he got the call to jury duty - they get paid!
Eeeek! Jury Duty? I guess it could be fun if you were one of the selected jurors, but I think I'd rather stay home and play with my kid. Is that boring of me? Sometimes I just don't want to know about all of the filth going on in the 'real world.' I'd rather just live in my bubble of "all is grand and wonderful!" :)
And aren't we lucky to be able to do that, Katie? Sometimes I feel guilty for saying out loud what you just did because so many moms can't or don't believe they can do just that. Stay home and create your own little bubble. No jury duty for me!
