Emma Goes to Preschool!

First days of school are some things that are new for us this year! Emma is due to start kindergarten in August, so we enrolled her in a little preschool program at the Bilingual Child Academy to get her started and ready for this big change. She's really growing up!

Emma the Jarocha Princess

Since Emma's birthday is on the 13th and we left Veracruz on the 6th, the family decided to eat some tacos al pastor, cake, 3 kings bread, etc. and celebrate Emma's birthday early. We had a small gathering with family and friends and broke open 2 piñatas. Emma is dressed up in a traditional Veracruz outfit and calls herself a "Jarocha princess" Jarocha meaning "girl from Veracruz" and princess, well...did you see the dress? It's meant for a dancing princess of the finest kind! She's almost 5!!

Emma's New Bike

Emma worked hard all October to keep her room clean every single day...then she got enough stickers to get a new bike!! And we had to let the princess get the most princess-y one ever!

Emma's getting so big and seeing her ride a non-trike bike makes me see this. She will be 5 soon! She's very cautious on her bike and won't drive too fast and always asks for help putting on her helmet. It was neat to see her, Emmanuel, and Ben all go out for a bike ride days after this. Are we growing into a "real" family? Hehe that is one that can go on bike rides together? Cool!

Fredricksburg, TX

The Sat. before Halloween we decided to take a road trip to a place we'd never been before. Fredricksburg is one of those bed and breakfast towns with lots of little shops along the main drag that people take romantic trips to. It's quaint and reminded me of Lake George, NY without the lake. We decided this is a place that my Dad and Holly would like. Lots of bikers, cowboy boots, interesting shops, fashions, and food!
