Xalapa

Sunday, January 3, 2010

Yesterday we took the day to drive over 1 hour northwest of Veracruz and go to Xalapa. I was pleasantly surprised to find a quaint little city full of culture and art. The air was humid with rain looming, but fresh and crisp. There in the mountains the roads were narrow and hilly. There were lovely little shops in the downtown area and a market full of handmade original toys, jewelry, and clothes. While there, we went to the anthropology museum, to the market, and then later out to eat. History, family, shopping, food...hmm this could be my favorite place in Mexico to date!
