Emma's First Christmas

Wednesday, December 26, 2007

Well, it wasn't what I had in mind, but Emma's first Christmas was yesterday. I remember last Christmas we bought her presents and put them under the tree with ours. We were so excited for her to show up.

So, the big event was Christmas Eve when we all ate dinner together at Emmanuel's mom's. We had turkey with potatoes. Emmanuel's brother, Chucho, was in town and hadn't seen Emmanuel in 10 years. He MADE us stay up until 2 in the morning talking to him, and we were so tired that we just crashed at their place (we put Emma to sleep there hours before anyway). So, you can imagine when our human alarm clock squawked at 7 am we were not happy. We then had to go back to his sister's to change and take showers, but I fell asleep and Emmanuel left me there for 2 hours! So we didn't get to Christmas activities until the evening :-). We ate leftovers and opened presents around 4. Emma throws whatever present she gets aside and plays with the paper. It's a good thing my in-laws have a good sense of humor, because they saw every minute of it. Be sure to look closely at the pictures (they are in order) to see what I'm talking about (she's pushing the gift away and Angel is laughing).

The guy in the pictures with Emma is Abuelo/Grandpa Angel.

P.S. On Christmas Day Emma stood for like 4 minutes straight!
