My Moment's Frusteration

Monday, October 6, 2008

What do you feed a kid who:

1) Won't eat cashew butter and jelly (or sandwiches for that matter),
2) Is allergic to egg whites, soy, and peanuts,
3) Won't drink anything in which she detects milk,
4) And seems to get an upset tummy or has an eczema flare-up when you vary from this even in the slightest?

Sometimes I feel like the recipe box in my head is completely exhausted and we'll all starve one of these days!

Natalie eats a lot of rice pasta and tacos. We use this rice cheese that you can get at central market. We just got her to eat pizza again too. hot dogs work, toast with sprinkles and cinnamon and sugar. I hope that helps. We don't vary to much.

Thanks for the ideas, Katie. I needed them! I tried the cashew butter and will keep trying...and I think Emma would like toast with cinnamon and sugar for sure. I need to get a rice cooker so it's easier for me to do rice often.

I actually feel horrible about this post :( I should get the bad mom of the year award or something because Emma's stomach was upset yesterday and that's why she wouldn't eat anything. It was just an odd sick day. I love you Emma! Hope your tummy is up for tilapia and couscous for lunch.

Oh man, a rice cooker is definately worth the money, we bought one just this last year and it makes things so much easier. Wow, you make tilapia and coucous for lunch, you're good. Devan likes mac and cheese and I put some meat in it, quesadillas, corn dogs, chicken nuggets, tater tots, pizza. Ok, my meals sound very white trash compared to your tilapia and couscous.

Hahaha Lana! White trash. You are silly for saying that. Do you buy the nuggets, corn dogs, etc. all frozen? If so, what are some good brands? I need to start getting together some easy bake and eat things :) We don't usually eat tilapia for lunch haha, you can tell I was feeling bad for having posted that comment. Couscous is so easy though - I think I'm going to make it more often - it only takes a total of like 10 min. to cook.
